Where is Ballards Campground & RV Park located?
We’re located at 13965 Ballard Loop, Carthage, MO, 64836 — just outside Joplin, Missouri, with easy access to I-49 and historic Route 66.

How do I get directions to the campground?
You can find us on Google Maps by searching “Ballards Campground Joplin MO.” Directions are also provided in your confirmation email.

​

What are your check-in and check-out times?
Check-in begins at 2:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Early or late check-ins may be available upon request.

​

Do you offer daily, weekly, and monthly rates?
Yes. We offer affordable daily rates, as well as discounted weekly and monthly options.

 

Do you have full hook-up RV sites?
Yes. All RV sites include water, sewer, and electric hook-ups (30 and 50 amps available).

 

Are tent campers welcome at Ballards?
Yes. We offer tent camping in addition to RV sites.

 

Do you allow long-term RV stays?
Yes. Monthly and extended stays are welcome, with utilities included.

 

What size RVs can your sites accommodate?
Our pull-through sites can handle rigs up to 45 feet. We’re big-rig friendly.

 

Is Wi-Fi available throughout the campground?
Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available for all guests.

 

Do you offer shaded or pull-through sites?
Yes. We have both shaded back-in and spacious pull-through sites.

 

Reservations & Payments

How do I make a reservation?
You can book online through our website or call our office.

 

Do you require a deposit when booking?
Yes. A deposit is required to secure your site, with the balance due at check-in for monthly rentals. 

 

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 7 days in advance receive a full refund, not including the credit card and platform fee. Cancelations after 2 days are non-refundable.

 

Do you accept same-day reservations or walk-ins?
Yes, based on availability.

 

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards and cash.

 

Do you offer discounts?
Yes. We offer discounts for Good Sam members, seniors (65+), and military.

 

Can I extend my stay once I’m there?
Yes, if space is available. Please check with the office.

 

Rules & Policies

 

Can I wash my vehicle or RV in the park?
No. Vehicle or RV washing is not allowed on park grounds. 

 

Can I do mechanic work at my site?
No. Mechanic work of any kind is not permitted.

 

Can I move furniture outside?
Only outdoor furniture is allowed outside. Indoor furniture must stay indoors.

 

Do you allow clotheslines?
No. Clotheslines are not permitted.

 

Can I use a window unit A/C?
No. Window units are not allowed.

 

Can I bring a deep freezer?
No. Deep freezers are not permitted.

 

Is homesteading allowed?
No. Homesteading is not permitted on-site.

 

Can I use outdoor rugs on the grass?
No. Rugs are not allowed on grassy areas.

 

Do I need management approval for steps?
Yes. Non-factory steps must be pre-approved by management.

 

Do sewer and water hookups require special support?
Yes. All hookups must be fitted properly and supported to prevent leaks.

 

Can I dump liquid waste on the ground or in dumpsters?
No. Dumping liquid waste anywhere except designated areas is prohibited.

 

Do extended stay guests need special sewer supports?
Yes. Extended stays require sewer support ladders.

 

Do RV units need approval?
All RVs must be in working condition. Units over 10 years old must be approved by management for monthly stays.

 

Do I need a heated water hose in winter?
Yes. A heated water hose must be installed before November 1st or water will be shut off until one is in place.

 

Can I keep trashcans outside my site?
No. Outdoor trashcans are not permitted. Use the dumpsters provided.

 

Do I need approval for skirting?
Yes. Skirting must be approved by management.

 

What are the rules for pets?
Pets must be leashed, picked up after, and supervised at all times. No pets may be left on cables unattended.

 

Are parents responsible for their children?
Yes. Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior and safety at all times. Children may not play in the roadway. This applies to children under 12. 

 

What are the laundry room rules?
The laundry room is open 24/7. No smoking, clean lint filters after use, remove your belongings promptly, and respect the machines.

 

What are the restroom and shower rules?
Restrooms/showers are open 24/7. No smoking, horseplay, pets, or dishwashing is allowed. Take your belongings with you after use.

 

What are the campfire rules?
Campfires are allowed in fire rings only, must be attended, and must be fully extinguished. Please be aware of burn ban areas. Fireworks are prohibited.

 

Where do I put my garbage?
All trash must go into the dumpsters provided. Do not leave trash at your site.

 

Where is the storm shelter located?
The storm shelter is at the back top corner of the property.

 

Can management evict guests?
Yes. Guests who break rules, cause disturbances, or create nuisances may be evicted immediately without notice.
